Dynamic Parameters/Attributes/Characteristics of Wave in ocean water

Undulation of surface water of sea by alternate crest & trough is called wave. The Dynamic Parameters of Wave in Ocean water discuss below-
Parameters of wave

  1. Wave Crest: Wave crest is the highest part of the wave, above water level.
  2. Wave Trough: Wave trough is the depressed hollow between two crests, below average water level.
  3. Wave Length: Wavelength is the horizontal distance separating two wave crests or two wave troughs. (Symbol L)
  4. Wave Height: Wave height is the vertical distance between the crest height & the trough height. (Symbol H)
  5. Wave Period: The time it takes for one complete wavelength to pass a stationary point. (Symbol T)
  6. Wave Frequency: Wave frequency is the number of waves passing a fixed pint per second. Frequency is the inverse of wave period. If wave length is high, then wave frequency is low.        Wave Frequency = 1/T ( T- Wave period).
  7. Wave Amplitude: Wave amplitude is the maximum vertical displacement of the sea surface from the still water level. Half the wave height.                                                                                          Wave Amplitude = H/2 ( H- Wave height).

Concentric zone theory

Theories of City Structure-Concentric Zone Theory Introduction: The Concentric or Zonal Theory of urban landuse was first proposed in 1923 by E.W. Burgess. He was a sociologist. The idea behind the concentric model is that the development of a city takes place outwards from its central area in a series of concentric circles to form zones.  Assumption:        i.           Cultural & social heterogeneity of the population.       ii.           Commercial-industrial base to the economy of the city.     iii.           Private ownership of property & economic competition for space.     iv.           Expanding area & population of the city.       v.    ...

Future scenario of Renewable Energy Resource in India

Future scenario of Renewable Energy Resource in India: The Indian Government has increased the target of renewable energy capacity to 175 GW by the year 2022, which includes 100 GW ( gigawatts) from solar, 60 GW from wind, 10 GW from bio-power & 5 GW from small hydro-power. Source 2022 Target (GW) Solar 100 Wind 60 Bio-Power 10 Small Hydro-Power 5 Future Scenario of Solar Energy:       Solar power in India is a fast developing industry.       The country’s solar installed capacity reached 29.55 GW as of 30 June 2019.       India has become globally the lowest cost producer of solar power.       The Indian Government has increased the target of renewable energy capacity to 175 GW by the year 2022, which includes 100 GW from solar. Advantage: Advantage of using solar energy is its eco-friendly nature. It does not release CO 2  and o...

Concept of determinism and possibilism

Determinism vs. Possibilism Introduction: No exact answer to this question has yet been found – to what extent do the natural elements of the world affect humans. In modern times, a continuous study of human relations with nature has begun. At present, the view of geographers has changed. The geographers has now human-centered. As a result, the relationship of nature with human beings & human with nature beings, is being studied in a systematic way. The opinion of geographers like Carl Ritter (1779-1859), Alexander Von Humboldt (1761-1859), Hackel, Bukle, Edmond Demolines, F. Ratzel, W.M. Davis, Huntington etc. geographers particularly important in this regard. And of these concepts, two important concepts are:                                             ...
